The Flea will save the day? That might be one panel of the next page but it’s still going to be chased by the chaperones and will need to get outside again. Luckily there is still at least one containment device still working.
Would that even be a bad thing, if it reintegrated with him? All it would mean would be that he temporarily couldn’t use his powers without their effects being balanced, and if they removed it from him once, they should be able to do it again.
He’d said at one point that it worked on an “equivalent exchange” type of system, where something good happening was balanced by something bad. And then he said that he’d used his powers to save the world one or more times, and stated that this meant getting that chaos energy back would cause the world to be devastated to make up for the saving. I’m afraid a quick search didn’t turn up the relevant strips.
You sure you’re not thinking of the page I posted, where they talk hypothetically about what might happen if he did save the earth? Because I don’t think he actually has been saving the earth, I think that’s all hypothetical. I don’t think he even has the competence to save the earth.
You’re right; I’d interpreted his “…in theory (looks away)” line as “yes, and I did that, but don’t want to admit it”. In hindsight I was probably jumping to conclusions.
Some guessed that the Chaos Orb might fall on Tyler. There’s Toby’s fears of it going back to him.
But what if it lands on someone else? What if its powers are gained by another?
Besides Tyler and Dynamode, there’s one other who has no powers: Lester.
My money is on Cecil’s coat getting it first. All Toby has to do is run away, and while the Orb may want him, I think Cecil’s coat moves faster than either of them. Not sure what that will do, except for making Cecil an even more major character than he is now.
I suppose it would be a gauche violation of the principle of willful suspension of disbelief to ask how that grappling hook could break that containment device, instead of yanking it out of Sarah’s hands, or yanking her off the ground, or yanking him off his feet …
Nah, I too wondered how fragile than containment unit was. Clearly dynamode cannot weight more than 60kg, and Tyler isn’t superhuman enough to withstand a traction like this anyway. Looks like a device made out of cheap plastic and tin foil.
Since no pull was displayed the whole time the orb was tossed around, with or without container unit around, I cannot reaaly accept that explanation. I’m keeping the cheap construction idea, that failed to withstand doing its job for more than a few hours without crumbling like wet toilet paper under the combined strength of two kids.
It’s just a little airborne, it’s still good! It’s still good!

The kick is up. It’s headed for the goal And it’s….
got some serious hang time!
Beginning to agree with you 😛

Pretty sure that at this point there’s an excess of chaos to be worked off; he wouldn’t be able to do anything helpful until then.
This, only more so. He’d explicitly stated several strips back that “instant wreck the world” levels of debt had accrued.
Really? All I’m seeing is “I’d be back where I started … Or worse” which doesn’t strike me as an emergency.

Unless he can find a good use FOR some ‘chaos energy’… which shouldn’t be totally impossible.
Organized crime just got less organized.

Saw this coming. Where is Zodon’s containment when you need it?
On the other side of the wall, unless Cecil’s coat ate it too.
Shortcuts bring LONG solutions.
The adage is “Short cut solutions create long lines of problems”.
I heard it as, “Short cuts make long delays, but inns make longer ones.”

He really does get all the coolest toys.
Is this still being updated? The last page is dated 2018-02-17, which is a year ago.
Yes it is. The date was off for the title of the page. It was actually published on 2/17/2019.
The archive page also isn’t up to date though pages are released at a consistent rate.
I sort of think Tyler is going to get to it first, but then Tom will Interfere

You have to account for the force of the orb pulling at it’s containment unit to get to Toby, that’s probably what did most of it.

It’s the clamp doing damage to the structural integrity, and the orb adjusting it to be at the weakest place.
