I think Ron has had an extended view of life outside superpowers and it’s been an eye-opener. Also, nothing like a common danger to make people cooperate, and he’s seen that Moonshadow is trying to do the right thing in this situation that doesn’t harm him.
And while he’s convinced Tyler is bad luck, that last bit of dialogue may show that his new power sputtering out is not being blamed on anyone else. THAT is a great change in his attitude. Perhaps a new mystery power appearing at a more mature age is better able to be handled?
At least his orientation at PS238 should be simple, and he will have classes with kids who probably missed him in his silly Praetorian period.
Ron is saving the team because the others are busy _being_ the team while Ron is not expected to do a specific part. If you’d change that expectation, Ron would be hindering the team by not fully having use of his power … or you’d say everybody is doing their parts.
I love this idea and so headcanon that Ron’s adult fulture involves getting his FISS powerset back at some point pre or post adulthood… Along with keeping this Shortcuts thing. :3
I think these shortcut powers seem more subtle and far reaching than the FISS package. As Captain clarinet, he was very unhappy to be considered muscle and good for hitting only. These new powers give him more agency and less expectations to have to live up to. If he got them back, he might even resist admitting it, execpt for the invulnerability so his mom won’t worry…
It would be more satisfying if the FISS in his bio ends up rated as icing comparatively.
If he still has his super sight and other non active powers and each FISS power was swapped for a different one then he still has three new powers he hasn’t found yet. I think we can assume this replaced flight.
I hope this is right !
Tunnelling and Teleporting probably replaces Speed and Flight. Invulnerability and Strength replacements should be interesting. Phasing through matter or regeneration could replace invulnerability, not sure about strength though.
Not to mention it would keep a distinction between he and Julie’s power sets, which would be nice since I think the “FISS who embraces the commonality of her powers” is an more interesting story arc.
I think it’s probably the containment device that is making Moon Shadow go “Oof!” rather than the Chaos Orb, though it could conceivably have significant mass of its own.
He was already holding the conainment device. For it to kick back into him, it must have had momentum transfer from the orb flying into it. Note that the Flea has a DIFFERENT containment device.
And I counter that the Uncalled Four (s.w.I.d.t.?) will raid the Praetorian Academy together, and retrieve Ron’s instrument so he can be Captain Clarinet again.
shortcuts reminds me of sans, I wonder if this is in any way related to that teleporting guy from before as this seems like a lite version of his powers, specially with the momentum keeping and whatnot
Wow, Ron acting nice to Moonshadow? It’s been a while, It’s nice to see that their stint in outer space helped to get them back on speaking terms.

I thought that he thought Moonshadow was bad luck but not Tyler.
Ron knows Tyler is Moonshadow.
Tyler told him during the “judge the metahumans” arc, but it was immediately wiped from Ron’s memory when he was returned home.
Ron doesn’t remember, but one time he had some bad luck when he saw Moonshadow and asked if Tyler was around.
???
Citation?
That was Zodon during his time traveling
Mostly he just hates being useless. Right now Ron is the one being enigmatic (sort of) and saving the team (sort of), so…

I’m fairly certain that Ron forgave Moonshadow when they got back to Earth.
Can you imagine if he ever gets over his !kryptonite-induced power-loss and winds up with both flight AND “shortcuts?”
Also, it looks like that Chaos Orb has significant mass, to make Moonshadow “oof” that hard when catching it.

I can see the Moon-knights forming:
Moonshadow
The Flea
Cecil the Censational
and
Slipstream
The Revenant just needs to help equip Ron and they can be a full-fledged super team.
And I counter that the Uncalled Four (s.w.I.d.t.?) will raid the Praetorian Academy together, and retrieve Ron’s instrument so he can be Captain Clarinet again.
I bow to your superior skills of naming and prediction.
I want to give Ron the superhero name “Pathfinder”. 🙂 I hope it’s cool enough.

I’ll have to go back and see when Ron got the ability to transport. He came just in time for Tyler aka Moonshadow.
I binge read this over a period of days and just got back to see the updated pages.
