With Cecil held and unable to move- whether to escape or shrink Zodon- I hope he can convince Zodon he’s not there to interfere in Zodon’s plans (which is actually true).
I doubt having a hostage would be of any advantage to Zodon, but I worry he won’t simply let Cecil go. He may wrap him up in metal like what he tried to do to Toby IIRC before leaving him behind.
If the adults looking for moonshadow with the vents sensors find his exit point then they might wonder how Zodon ties in especially if they don’t find Eldritch bat boy.
They have a literall mechwarrior lumbering through their tower invisible to their security… Frankly Zodon and the Von Foggs have a point that the heros appear to be dangerously stupid
There are competent superhero adults like Tyler’s teachers who mostly dislike Tyler’s “parents” the people who happen to be running this team. It also sounds like one of the plots is happening because Toby does not understand the difference between a karmic credit card and karmic cash, and half of the other plot happening because Toby didn’t think to run it by Tyler before making a shady deal in his name.
In fairness, at least part of the issue seems to be the absolutely massive security breach the adults invited in when they threw this party. Without that, Zodon would probably be having a much harder time…
Which still does not speak well of the heroes, since they came up with the dang idea in the first place.
On the other hand, the sheer confluence of secret plots that have apparently collided here probably aren’t helping. It’s one thing to deal with false leads and red-herrings; it’s another to figure out that the minor ‘distractions’ are actually part of a completely separate conspiracy, which is apparently mixing things up for shots and giggles.
Cecil is being added to ‘will ruin my plans by shear idiocy’ LIST for Zodon, deservedly so. Zodon has not figured out that dumb luck favors heros not villains.
That escalated quickly.
Plus points for the use of “funicular”.
Oooh, somebody’s been upgrading.
Zodon is clearly having a very bad day…

…the adult heros that is…

Learn to LISTEN, Cecil. *shakes head*
And Ship? Priority lists are your friend. ‘Lumbering hostile mechwarrior’ goes before spatial outline.
