A game that actually makes the balls disapear? That’s actually a really cool idea. I wonder what king of powers your supposed to use to solve this one.
Seems like Enhanced Senses coupled with a analytic frame of mind if the anomalies are moving in a pattern would work, however Combat Seers (short range precognition of a couple of seconds) would do well on this too.
They don’t really disappear; the balls are just sent through a worm hole to somewhere else just short of the bottles. My guess is that she’s going to form a wormhole just short of the first one and exiting just short of the bottles but past the first hole.
Huh. My guess was just that she was going to throw at a precise angle so that, when it comes out wherever it comes out, it will still be headed towards the bottles. My guess is that it comes out behind the bottles, so they’ll have to curve some way so that it will angle back and hit it.
I mean, the robot has to be recovering the balls, after all.
Maybe the dimensional hop is to give more distance, to leech some of it’s speed or momentum, or maybe it is a subtle redirect, so the bottles don’t all fall. If it makes the ball’s trajectory look curved, then super senses can correct for it on subsequent throws. On the other hand, if the portals are slowing it down, then super strength or speed may be the answer.
“Those are called wormholes.”
“Agreed, but still…”
“Be sure to set it for an up quark spin or it may damage several nearby universes.”
“Someone has to care about the multiverse.”
ANGIE: You don’t got none of that light-bendin’ tech goin’ on, you ain’t usin’ no stargates…
PROSPERO: Those are called “wormholes.”
ANGIE: No cool people say “wormholes,” dude.
PROSPERO: Agreed, but still…
ANGIE: Lock an’ load!
PROSPERO: Be sure to set it for an up quark spin or it may damage several nearby universes.
ANGIE: Bein’ a back-seat pitcher, dude.
PROSPERO: Someone has to care about the multiverse.
Tricky. Those two portals block the most common target zones for that game. I have a feeling she’s underestimated the system, though — if those portals were all there was, any shot would have a chance to miss them. And remember, Tyler said these games are rigged so that you should *need* powers to win…
Close yet I was nowhere near at the same time, bit disappointed with myself.
Don’t know why this seems more like cheating than any of my theories (other than the robot batting away all the shots faster than you can blink).
I do like that the way of winning seems to be gadget making, always like when its a gadget that does something that someone used to their powers can not do.

A good enough bank shot would work if the wormholes are stationary. So honestly just “Comic book level” throwing skills.

*smiles* A lot of the theories in the comments have been shot down. …Specifically. Ah, the Game of Surprises.

Thanks for translating! ^_^
Pass me the robot, load him in the thrower and throw him at the anomaly. Let us see where he goes.

How do you know what he’s saying?
He uses a funny font, but if you work out which symbol stands for which letter, his dialogue is all in English…
Prospero’s dialogue translations:

Wait, does she understand Prospero? must be a gadget of her’s…
She “sorta” understands him. Like cat owners understand their cats. Or Brian & Stewie understand each other but no one else seems to.
I don’t know she’s specifically responded to exact words before. “I don’t BARK, I LAUGH.”” and stuff.
Angie’s explanation in her own words:

Like I said, load the robot and throw him instead.
Bank shot off the robot’s head!
Angie, I hope you’re listening to Prospero – you don’t want to endanger any nearby universes….
Don’t worry so much, there’s only a slight chance that any of them have conditions conductive for the development of life.
Hey, if she’s lucky, she can be the condition making that universe conducive for the development of life.

Is it just me, or is this whole carnival looking remarkably like a great way to troll for potential future recruits?
Gadgeteers are generally depicted as mischievous trickster spirit analogues, so trolling seems like a good bet, yes.
Did Mr. Clay ever get back to her on those peanut butter saucers?
