I notice this mistake happen all the time with webcomics, but most don’t have a comment section. So it just slowly drives me insane. But yeah, I occasionally put the wrong date on things as well. I do hate doing it.
I know someone who has a tendency like Cecil’s, trying to read the subtext between the hints between the implications between the lines. With about as much accuracy. I can tell you, it’s a lot more fun when it happens in the comics.
Oh, I don’t think we have anything to worry about. Cecil was talking about infultrating Preatorian Academy, but I think he’ll drop the idea when he learns a little more about them. For instance, Preatorian Academy has a strict dress code and I just don’t see Cecil giving up his beloved bat-coat any time soon- or ever for that matter.
Yeah, but don’t forget, Cecil’s still got the cloaking device Tyler extracted from Vance’s fighter. I can definitely see him turning that on and trying to sneak around.
Is it just me, or does Tyler look a little different in this than in previous appearances? I keep looking at it, and although Cecil looks normal, somethings a little off about Tyler.
The proportions between his head and shoulders have shifted a bit. His head is slightly taller than before (when it was more oval shaped) and his shoulders are broader. I’m going to attribute it to the effects of Tyler’s more active lifestyle, rather than an artist’s hiccup.
I think I see what you’re talking about, but maybe it’s just Tyler growing up. Kids’ looks do change as they mature. (Adults’ too, for that matter, although not as quickly.)
I noticed it too, but his face could be thinning out a little from training/age, OR this is their first regular page that’s in color and that may be throwing things off a little.
Tyler’s head is definitely smaller in relation to the rest of his body, making him look both a little older and less cartoonish. (It’s not quite as cartoon-football-shaped.) I’m inclined to credit that to art evolution; even professional artists change their styles as their skills continually improve, and doing webcomics has proven for many artists to be a way to dramatically improve over time.
However, as it does make him look older, I won’t rule out a deliberate effort to show the kids growing a bit. With no indication of how much time has passed, it’s hard to say whether they “should” be visibly growing up from earlier depictions or not.
They’re in what, first or second grade at the start of the comic? They’re still doing assignments like “draw a comic book style report of your winter break in crayon,” so they can’t be much beyond that. By 4th grade, certainly, I’d stopped having crayons outside of art class.
I agree, but it looks like his legs are a bit longer and his body looks less “squat”….has a year passed yet since the start of the series? I would have thought we would have had a “summer vacation” issue/story
…If not, may just be Aaron’s “evolution” as mentioned
So Minecraft exists within the PS238 universe, and at least one of the kids who attends Excelsior enjoys playing it enough to have a Creeper backpack. Good to know! 😀
You know, I always imagined Tyler’s backpack to be blue. -It’s kindof funny the odd details like that that I notice durring this shift to color (even now 80 pages later).
But did you guys see Cecil? He’s totally rocking that purple shirt.
“2012-02-05”?
Shouldn’t that be 2016?
Fixed. Don’t you hate when you write the wrong year on your checks after the start of the new year…
I can’t remember the last time I wrote a check, so no.

I thought he’s like “Supernatural” fans who read too much into Sam/Dean & Dean/Castiel interactions. 😛
I pray to ZOD to save us from the shippers.
Cecil, please don’t break into the rival super school and fire the first shot in a super human war.

I think it’s how the nose is done. The shading to give dimension comes off almost as a second nose which throws off the face.

This is going to go well, I can SO tell >_>
Cecil should team up with Tyler’s parents, they can be derps together
This page is the page number 84 of the issue Chapter1:84 And The Ones Before.
Sooo, i don’t know, congrats to 84?

He probably had one in blue earlier, but you know what usually happens to his homework.
Yes, of course!
Thank you, its not that often that a comment can actually make me laugh (in a good way). 🙂
I like that Creeper backpack in panel 1
Cecil creeps me out more and more with his every appearance… 0_0
