Well sure, a stable time loop establishes a lack of free will to any and all characters, removing any tension from their future choices or past mistakes having a different path. But this is fiction, so they didn’t have choices anyway. I guess I agree with you, since it makes it really obvious. It’s seeing the wires of storytelling.
Still, I love this comic. I am rereading it for the third time and I will do so again. Just because existence is on rails doesn’t mean that Splash Mountain wasn’t fun.
Yea except Tylor is treated like a human being, and most of the adults in his life are looking out for his best interests. This means people might actually go to jail if they were to kill Tylor in an attempt to open a door, instead of maby getting less of a lecture than they would get for using a meaningless swear word.
Just roll with it, Nodwick. Once an adventure starts rolling, everything getting turned on its head is par for the course anyway. :-\
Just take the fact that this witch has no interest in turning you into a frog or a pile of smouldering ashes as a nice bonus.
Argh. Hate hate hate hate hate HATE stable time loops!
I *am* curious about this whole ‘wicked witch’ thing, though.
It gets answered in a few pages. Someone has to make a grand entrance first.

Poor Nodwick – he’s experiencing ‘awkward conversational bystander’ syndrome…
Wanna bet that once Nodwick gets it explained to him, he’ll say something along the lines of ‘Oh, that again.’
I just hope that Moon Shadow and Nodwick feel a strange sense of kinship with each other.
Duuude! They’re totally alike! or rather, Tyler and Nodwick – Moonshadow’s popular.
