Is his superpower… stealth? Superheroes can’t recognize him in costume, and the superpower-sensor doesn’t detect him?

I like it better if he doesn’t have any powers, though.

    – God, but I love how frustrated Tyler is by the way everyone can’t see through his ‘disguise’.

“Stop thinking so hard about this.”

The best advice ever, for people inside of, or reading superhero comics. What with the laws of physics becoming abstract art every few panels.

I seem to remember a certain spell or trait in D&D called ‘Non-Detection’ that prevents others from ‘seeing’ or noticing you if you aren’t trying to be seen. This worked whether the methods of finding you were magical or not. It had a Will saving throw, which would imply that only people with more wisdom would recognize the discrepancies left by your actions.

In this case, Cecil’s special sensitivities and recognition of things that were wrong in his surroundings (making him a bit wiser for his age) would make seeing through Tyler’s outfit trivial.

I’m reminded of a line by Harlan Ellison. It showed up in a couple of stories and one of the episodes of “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” that he wrote. The hero would have something totally improbable happen and he’d mutter; “It isn’t supposed to be this easy!”

    Tyler would sympathise!
