Why are invincible superstrong flying people advertising for tire companies when every Coast Guard in the world (or any other kind of rescue agency) would be all over that shit?
I have visions of Coast Guard Metahuman Survival Technicians lifting distressed mariners to helicopters now, and it’s making me unable to think of anything else.
The CG and other armed forces likely already are. We just don’t see the booths here. And since this world seems to have an abundance of metahumans, it’s likely that such emergencies are handled so fast that there’s just not enough such work to go around.
Later in the series, we see what happens when a giant monster invades a city — so many superhero teams show up that they start *arguing* with each other over who gets to handle it.

Yeah, Specialized rescue alone should be a major career path.
Funding. It always comes down to funding.
Also, I’m sure Atlas and the superteams handle a lot of that stuff for free, so…
