Not that it’s a major hurdle, but Malphast’s parents are better, more engaged caregivers than the Powers. He’s just upset a major plot of theirs, and her only response is joy at seeing her son and his friends again.
To be fair, almost ANYONE’S parents are better, more engaged caregivers than the Powers. But yeah, it’s nice they’re not mad at their son for spoiling their plans.
