It’s one of the things I like about Aaron’s deconstruction (and reconstruction) of the super-hero myth, it’s taken semi-realistically, but not cynically. While things (and people) always go bad, there is also usually hope and people doing the right things in the end.

I love how Aaron’s mastery of the form does so much with so little, in panel 5 both the Revenant and Tyler look unsure that giving swords to the kids is the right thing, and Aaron achieves this with minimal changes to their faces. It’s masterful.
