So will the plastic girl now take the helm & bring this thing down to earth? Or is it going to be baseball batted into submission?

Well, the one volunteering to push buttons is the one with the bat that makes things explode. I say go with her plan… it’s got entertainment potential.

Yeah, that’s what my old high school said about the security systems *they* installed, too. Two weeks in and we had Quake installed on every PC in the comp sci labs.

That’s funny… in my school, it was the staff who’d put the games on there in the first place…

And also he was expecting his super powered ally to be there. I mean the commander would normally be in the command room/bridge. Besides he never thought about them just simply destorying things/everything.

There kids. Even unpowered kids can get through stuff most adults can. It is a wonder kid proof lids work.

Amen, keecoyote. Kids are little geniuses. All the more reason kids should run the government. The world would be a better, and more interesting, place.

LOL. Kid Proof lids work because they require more patience than your average kid can muster, NOT because they can’t figure them out. My best friend’s daughter could open them ANY TIME she REALLY wanted to, but generally they fell into the category of “stuff that’s too much trouble to foll with”. Yes, that IS a quote…

So if the computer picks up those buttons being pressed either it’ll eventually inform Lord Dax or because it can’t detect whose pressing those buttons maybe it’ll assume its malfunctioning and start deactivating those systems… who knows maybe one of them releases Argonaut?

Or she could USE that bat she brought…

I’m thinking a nigh-invincible child with a baseball bat that causes explosions and is invisible to security systems taking up a challenge to cause trouble can never end well. And I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Maybe engineers are hyper trained to do as they are told. As for the medic why would a FISS-noble need a medic and why bother helping with inferiors who may not be as invulnerable as the nobility.
Ok potential spoiler. I hope. I’ve only read this far but based on the feral abilities comments the FISSfolk royalty has been weeding out any potential threats. If they are the most FISS then they dominate other FISSfolk. By removing the wild cards as they appear it would keep threats in check.
    Is 84 a FISS-y-princess??

    “You allow feral talents?”

Sounds like they not only select for nibikity and possibly marriages by power strength, but also execute “subversive genetic rogues”, i.e., any meta who’s not a F.I.S.S.

I think “Here’s the bridge?” is supposed to be “Where’s the bridge?”
