This is the first time I noticed the “proximity alert” thingy. How long has Tyler had it?

This is the first of it getting used though it was suggested a long time ago when it would have been useful.

My bad. I meant four comics ago. It was established here: http://ps238.nodwick.com/comic/2016-07-25/

What’s that pink thing Tyler has in his hand in the first panel?

      His Revenant-Communicator, I’d say

Looks like a regular cellphone headset.

Can you think of a better way to disguise it?

Although, oddly enough, it appears to have the Revenant’s symbol on it.

Why disguise? It could really just be a cellphone headset, albeit one used by Moon Shadow to communicate with the Revenant. Just because you’re rich and smart enough to create a specialized communicator does it mean it’s more practical to do so.

I would expect it’s somewhat more secure than a regular phone, which are almost completely not. Several VOIP phone apps for modern phones are secure, but using the built-in phone feature? You could intercept that with regular tech, never mind meta-genius super-tech.

Probably once there’s enough bugs to equal the mass of a small child it’d cause problems . . .

What I want to know is, why does she keep looking for Tyler…?

Doesn’t she think he wants her object at Power & Glory?

Unless, of course, HE’S the thing she has to bring back to get her object!

Flea continues to be the most amusing character in the comic, despite the competition.

Agreed. He glories in being, well, a pest. But it doesn’t seem to be vicious, just having fun being a pranking personality.

Everything’s better with Flea. He has an entry on TV Tropes’ “Made of Fun” page for a good reason. Other kids play different roles, like Ron being the anxious one, A84 the sweet one, Ambriel the snarker, etc, and Flea fills the role of comic relief while still being an effective member of any team he works with.

Wait a minute. How does that proximity alert thing work? Did Tyler plant a tracker on Sarah? Is it a very high tech device that can sense stuff like bio-electric signatures?

Okay. Went back. 2016-07-25: cell phone. He got her number?
Raises the question: She turned on her phone now?

If Tyler is her quest object, maybe she wants to call the shopkeepers as soon as she’s nabbed him?

Most people have their phones turned on, so that they know when someone phones or texts them

Why is she looking around in the fifth panel? That’s not normal “walking by” behavior. That does make me suspect that Tyler is what she is supposed to provide to Power & Glory (as others are thinking).

Which makes me wonder how HE knows that and knows to hide from her :/

        2016-09-07, 11:12 am | # | Reply

My guess is because she acted like a crazy woman and threatened him when they first met. “Avoid the threatening crazy” is sufficient reason to put a proximity alert on her (if you have the technical know-how to do that).

That or, she has the ANGRY EYES, so it maybe she’s hunting Tyler and CC to “eliminate the competition” before they can take whatever power thingie she wants.

It took me a while to think of it, but if I were Tyler I would have told The Flea “for every non-meta insect they ought to have a meta-powered insect as a chaperone.”

It feels like there’s a page missing from this chapter.
