And this is why you as a villian NEVER MAKE A DEAL WITH ANOTHER BADGUY.. BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOUR GOING TO DOUBLE-CROSS THEM. so you should be prepared to deal with there own double cross before the double cross you planned. The quadruple cross as it where.

And thus we see why a big ego can hurt people. Besides it was a child vs a politician. Yes she may be “Super Powered Smart” but she is dealing with a normal government POLITICIAN! They have lots of experience making back stabbing contracts.

This is why it Alexandra makes Extortion sound so dull… She totally knows where this is going to an eventual scapegoating doublecross and is preparing what events to do to midagate the fallout and move things into her favor… And if she isn’t, than I’ve lost a good deal of respect for the Von Fogg family.

She is young and overconfident. She thinks she knows more than he does and is capable of more. We don’t really know what she knows or what she is capable of beyond her technological skills.

As extra security she will inform the family of what she is involved in, and her plans of what she will do with it.

Well they’re a whole family of VonDooms so they can be missled by their giant egos and hubris.

“Ah, but I knew you would double cross me, so I already planned a contingency for that!”

“But I knew that you knew and planned a contingency for your contingency!”

“But I knew that you knew that I knew, and had a contingency for your contingency to my contingency!”

“Really? Damned! I didn’t know that!”

(Random henchman x) “Anyone else got a headache?”

She may be smart but He has a school full of smart people.
While the Von Fogg’s are used to fight one or a couple of attacks by the ‘good’ guys, they are now going to be attacked by at least twenty or more ‘bad’ guys who just as sneaky and devious as they are.
Not to mention, the headaches they are going to get when Victor gets home.

Nah, it’s going to be a shadow war – an outright battle would expose too much. I expect lots of maneuvering for position and trying to build influence, but not a lot of hitting things. In that sort of conflict, it’s hard to tell who’s winning short of seeing what happens when someone gives an order…

I would instead expect the comic to end soon…

With all this talk of the von Foggs, I am curious as to what exactly our resident Dr Doom expy is _like_ with his children.

I think the climax should be fun to watch, if he does indeed get involved.

He takes his son trick or treating in a bonus strip in one of the compilations. Forget which one. It doesn’t go well.

You know… for a family of super geniuses, the von Foggs can be kinda dumb at times.

Oh, right, the ego… the stupidifier of the intelligent everywhere.
