I think the cable was released violently so it isn’t in a straight line. Still traveling straight but with lots of slack in the following line. If that makes sense. Zodon would correct me.
Edit: ok, now I think he deliberately opened it wrong so it would sproing at them. Not how it was intended to be used but better than throwing a tangle weed bag. Closer to intent of a weak and improvised Gordians knot that can’t be cut.
Just the kids are vulnerable though the coat could counter that.
Zodon is actually working as a team player though what he uses his ill gotten gains for later is another matter.
The others are unfortunately getting distracted by him.
It’s a side effect of her super-introspection power. She now realizes when she’s acting like a jerk, which is of course the first step in stopping herself from acting like a jerk. If she also realizes that she doesn’t want to be a jerk, she’ll get better.
Hopefully she doesn’t *want* to be a jerk; that would make it hard to realize that she doesn’t.
Being a jerk often results in setbacks. If one was aware of these setbacks and why they happen, one might decide to avoid them… and thus be less of a jerk.
Zodon seems like the least bad option right now. P&G are basically unknown. And the Evil and Queen and Last Place definately can’t be trusted. Zodon’s still a kid who thinks he always knows better than the adults, and he’s the type of person who says no one should have this type of power except for me but he’s better than the other two options.
Is he five? I mean I thought most of the kids were like eight. But I don’t spend much time around small children. And several of them including Tyler are getting taller it seems.
Considering that he was sent back in time and returned to the present by freezing himself ( http://ps238.nodwick.com/comic/12282009/ ), he could be a few hundred years old, depending on how you count time in suspended animation.
Probably because Zodon isn’t a villain, while he’s on the delinquent side that’s because he’s not getting the proper challenges and mental stimulation to keep him occupied so he acts out (something he tells us himself during the arc that reveals what happened with his parents). He’ll help do the right thing even if he tries to spin it as being out of selfish reason and won’t put a life in jeopardy, but doesn’t want to be perceived as ‘weak’ or ‘soft.’ While he still does things out of selfishness he also does things to help like with the efforts to contain the Chaos Goo, he knows the others can’t properly contain it but he can (like he mentions about a few other things in the place that aren’t contained properly). But nobody will take him seriously or listen to him so he simply has to do it himself, because the adults around him really aren’t reliable.
Did that line automatically tangle, or did Zodon make that into a net?

All fishing lines automatically tangle.
We found the person who fishes.

And with that last line, Dynamode is acting as one of the more reasonable adults in this plotline.
This is incredibly sad.

Not as hard as you might think.

There are times when you let the villain get away, kids. This is probably one of those times.
Zodon is not the villain, Dynamode is having trouble keeping up with who’s a threat. Save time, ask Tyler.

Until he gets back to his dorm room and starts to think about what he can do with it…
It is weird how often I find myself rooting for Zodon. The five-year-old super-genius shouldn’t be the wisest person in the room!
Is he five? I mean I thought most of the kids were like eight. But I don’t spend much time around small children. And several of them including Tyler are getting taller it seems.
Zodon has time-travelled enough times that only his Mark 2.0 Barry Ween Chip knows for sure.

He saw mammoths during his time in the past. I am fairly certain that he is now several thousand years old.

So in that way he’s like a smart younger kid who wants to hang out with the older kids and prove himself as tough as them.
There is a lot of that. Remember, though, that he self-identifies as a villain. So he conflates will to do that which is needed with “villainy.”
At this point, the only thing that would certainly make the moment more awkward and confusing is “and then the Boss walks in”.
If Dynamode has a “gas” state, the fishing line is going to be a short-term solution.
Liquid would be better as she could also manipulate the tangled line.
Wait why don’t they just throw the doom goo into the all gone box?
Because that would result in the all gone box gaining a supersuit made of chaos goo and becoming a villain. It’s like you don’t read comics.
Also they wouldn’t be able to sell it anymore once it’s gone into the box.
Release the kraken fishing gear!
I guess Zodon is throwing the net to P&G, not to his classmates. He wants to get away, and that is the best solution.
I consider Zodon is Chaotic Good. He has saved the world several times, more than most of his classmates.
In the 4th panel the chair is facing away from Flea and the others, and the shot is going straight in front of the chair. Where P&G seem to be.
