That’s not an oddly specific admission. He has a space ship. Specifically, if I’m not mistaken, an alien warship. Any decent alien warship should have a simulator to calculate expected effectiveness of attacks.
Yes, but he didn’t check in with said warship. So it seems he had already checked, which, which is oddly specific to the other guys. And I don’t think they know about the warship.
Oddly Specific Assertion
“It will take you 30 minutes to get through security. Unless you are wearing a Pizza ‘Spress uniform.” “Really, tell me more.” (based on RL)
Nope. We were given a line specifically about the lack of illumination out on the grounds, so the windows end up being mirrors at night. The better for these ‘adults’ to spend more time preening about how ‘awesome’ they are.
Nah, that’s the blastwave from the firepower directed at the wall. And if it’s powerful enough to force her back…well, the squishier kids may be safer in another castle.
No, that’s the gesture you make when a large rectangular object is dangling precariously near your face. She’s ready to grab it in a sec to stop it if it comes any closer.
Also, it’s likely that the facility’s full lockdown mode includes something that blocks or disrupts teleportation. We might be about to find out soon if it interferes with Ron’s newfound powers.
Given there are three main theories of teleportation physics not including going via a parallel dimension or wormhole etc, I’d say they lack some means to block traveling in or out. Unless they have a team member with or temporarily hired someone with foresight powers to aid the defence setup.
I don’t see any reason to assume that. You’re dealing with a facility that tracks people and identifies them real-time by their genetics. If there’s any pre-blink teleportation signature – energy flux, specific brain activity fluctuation, etc. – it seems reasonable that it could be detected and the teleportation attempt disrupted. We know it’s already detected Ron taking “shortcuts” (aka “intermittent trans-dimensional shenanigans”), and that might have also included the messed-up teleportation attempt by Charles. In comic book technology, it’s usually not much of a step from “detecting” to “affecting”.
Plus, remember Necronomik and his wards. We don’t fully know what they’re capable of.
Huh.
Is anybody else wondering why they’re trying to blast a hole in their wall instead of using a door … or opening the window (which we already know opens)?
The shield that they can’t lower. Doesn’t matter if they aim at the windows or wall as that’s sitting after the primary target and weaker. They are also trying to pursue on the same course as what was taken by who they are pursuing.
Really they would be quicker finding the shield generator or it’s power source and sabotaging it rather than hitting the shield.
If you look carefully at the edge of the blast you can see window pane dividers. 1 windows are weaker than either doors or walls. 2 they’re cheaper / easier to replace than both. 3 it’s where the people they’re chasing went, blasting at the ‘weak point’ they just went through would seem best.
They’re superheroes. It seems to be part of the superhero code that you never go through a door when you can go through a window, never go through a window when you can go through a wall or or roof…
I think we just found a corollary to Oddly Specific Denial.
Oddly Specific Admission?

Ron might.
He had ship run the sim before he went on mission

An Oddly Specific Observation?
Person 1: Oh a jean jacket? You know you really have to work to get a knife through those.
Person 2: Why do you know that?
The date is screwed up. It saves as “2018-05-19”
It looks fine to me (now that I fixed it).
Ron spent quite a bit of time on that warship.
I wonder if any of the adult-superheroes saw what was going on outside?
They are quite close to the window…
Nope. We were given a line specifically about the lack of illumination out on the grounds, so the windows end up being mirrors at night. The better for these ‘adults’ to spend more time preening about how ‘awesome’ they are.
Sure, a little quantum tunnelling and voila, you are on the other side of the wall.
Julie’s getting smacked by panel 1 … Does that count as breaking the fourth wall? If so, I’m glad somebody’s able to break a wall here …
Nah, that’s the blastwave from the firepower directed at the wall. And if it’s powerful enough to force her back…well, the squishier kids may be safer in another castle.
Her hair isn’t even moved slightly. I’m guessing the light show from there combined powers is worth shielding her eyes from.

In Soviet Russia, the fourth wall breaks you!
Good ol’ Flea, asking the real questions.
The greatest power = common sense.
I assume there’s a good, in-story reason why there’s no one with teleporting ability among the adults.
If the EDL had teleporters working for them, they wouldn’t need those portals.

There has even been at least three people in this so far that traveled underground.
But doors are still useful sometimes.
