Yup. Once Ambriel’s gone, her “Guardian Force” didn’t see her as being in danger of being detected, so the “cloaking field” went with her. But since Zodon didn’t bother shutting the sensors down, Forak gets noticed immediately. Poor guy, even when he’s ready be a hero, he can’t catch a break. 🙁
Well, so much for keeping the adventure ‘low key.’
lets hope someone uses their brain to figure out what is going on and why
before trying to stop them.
Zodon’s way ahead of you, as shown on the previous page.
Someone had to remain behind in PS238’s dimension, to keep anyone from shutting down the portal generator. Ambriel could have been selected, but Zodon preferred having her “Guardian Force” nearby. As a result, any of the others would have had to fight off the security bots. Dillon and Julie are more experienced heroes than Forak, which means that Zodon needs them for Phase two of his plan. Plus Forak is technically an adult, which means that if Herschel stumbles onto him he might be more inclined to believe that “Atlas Lad” is there fighting crime, and not causing mischief, which is what Julie and Dillon might be accused of.
There’s also the detail that Zodon likes his classmates slightly better than most everyone else on the planet. Mainly because they aren’t suspicious enough to keep him from getting away with stuff yet.
Dillon follows orders while still showing initiative in battle, something Forak has no capacity for. Ambriel can’t be harmed, and her bat is a very potent weapon (and I think she has a crush on Zodon). And Julie is more powerful than Forak and Zodon’s seen her take out Thunderclap. He chose this team for a very specific purpose, which Forak would not be able to accomplish. It’s better to keep him at Clay Industries, where he probably won’t suffer any permanent scars.
Ah…. when Guardian Angel left, Forak was no longer “cloaked”
