Last time I tried to make something from old computer screens & coffee makers I only got a bright spark & lots of magic smoke. Should have included an automobile alternator.
But wouldn’t a parahuman intellect capable of wiping us all out also be capable of solving all our problems? I understand planning for the worst, but this still seems off.
Well, we are capable of wiping us all out. (e.g. fast with nuclear weapons, slower by wasting the world’s soils, etc.)
Whether we can solve all our problems – an open question, but doubtful.
(Certainly not as easy as wiping us out.)
