Batman doesn’t even need brooding to be scary .He has the intensity of his mind and his presence of gravitas to. The brooding is the ultra dark chocolate icing to cake.
The reason why the Revenant is so scary is precisely because he is so carefree. There is no telling what the Revenant will do at any given time, and that unpredictability always works in his favor.
Sometimes it also works in the favor of his enemies, as seen in the case of the Crystal Skull and Principal Cranston. Like the Doctor, the Revenant prefers to give his opponents a chance to reform.
The Revenant is both the “good cop” and the “bad cop” at the same time. And the “crazy, wisecracking cop”, and the “I’m getting too old for this stuff cop”. Batman is always the “bad cop”. He lets Robin or Batgirl play “good cop”. The Revenant seems to get a lower recidivism rate from his “rogue’s gallery” as a result.
I think the Revenant’s calm and casual attitude is rubbing of on Moonshadow. How else would you explain a child reacting like he does in the first two panels, especially when Dax is being quite truthful about the disparity in physical abilities? That’s a badass kid right there.
Ohh, mystery time, let me guess, Ul-ron, on the bridge, with argonite.
I’m guessing Atlas, in a containment suit, with Argonite.
Seems like a reasonable guess…
“It was Atlas… in the Containment Suit… with the Argonite.”
“…Are we playing Super CLUE or something?”
I agree, I think it’s someone’s daddy. If not Atlas than who else?
Heh. You would think that Batman would be LESS scary if he wasn’t brooding all the time…
He might be. The Revenant sure seems at least as effective, if not moreso, and he isn’t angsting around a dingy cave whenever he’s not working.

You. You I like.

As i recall absolutely any time a classic Batman smiles its time for everyone to hide!
How do you tell if Revenant is smiling ?
I sure hope so… From the mouth of babes.
