Excalibur being a baseball bat (and being called Excalibat) was done by Matt Wagner in his series “Mage: The Hero Discovered”. Long out-of-print, I believe.
Even in a crew of space-faring feodalist aliens, you need at least one guy who’s got his head screwed on right and knows how to make necessary repairs and provide much-needed maintenance.

You are right.
Can you imagine that other dude trying to fix an engine?
Rock
Yes. Yes, I can. He’d try to bully and slap it into working, and thus stand his ship in deep space.
That guys going to get it. I suspect there is a joke aspect to that guy, his dialogue with a computer sounds familiar, as does his look. Is there some movie where an “astronaught” tries to explain something to a computer that it cant “sense” with its sensors. I want to throw HAL into the equation, but I doubt thats it. Any ideas. Sorry couldn’t resist!

So has Ambriel named her new bat?
I’d suggest Excalibur but I think she wouldn’t consider that an option…
Sabreur
Excalibat?

I wonder how dangerous that bat is,they tried to send it into the sun to get rid of it.

“Bat smash Hulk”, perhaps?

Now if only they had another portal paper to use… as for the guy in the ship. He looks very familiar.

I’m getting “Han Solo” vibes off of him. Let’s see, shall we?

He looks like the Paradox guy from the castle at the end of space and time.
